Thank you for visiting the personal website of Mike Green, aka “Myatu”.
The Author
I’m a 3o-some year old software / web developer residing in Hammersmith (Greater London), United Kingdom.
I’ve been working with computer systems on a professional level since 1996 and was the owner of a fairly successful company until 2004 in Philadelphia, United States.
I’m currently open for software and web development opportunities, so if you’re interested in putting my skills to good use, feel free to contact me.
About the name “Myatu”
Myatu is a nickname — or handle — that I adopted quite a few years ago. It was first used during the public beta of the now defunct “Earth and Beyond” game developed by Westwood Studios / Electronic Arts.
The nickname is an accidental misspelling of “Miyato”, which was the previous name for the Sumida river that flows through Tokyo, Japan. There’s no specific relation between me and the river or Japan, other than a historic interest.
Hiroshige famously depicted Miyato in one of the “100 Views of Edo”, as shown on the right.
What to expect on this website
The website is primarily for personal purposes, however I do take a great pleasure in helping others. Therefore, you will likely see a number of “How To’s” and similar blog articles, where I will share my knowledge and experiences from learning new things.
Because my mind is hyper-active, my interests are quite varied but deep. So do not be surprised if one day you will find an entry regarding space science, and another day something about the current affairs in politics.
And so …
I hope you enjoy the website. If you have any suggestions or comments, you may post them in the article’s comment sections or you can contact me directly. You can also follow me on Twitter, for a few chuckles about my daily musings.
